Architectural Visualization - Optimizing and Cleanup
This series focuses on optimizing architectural models for interactive applications and dealing with large scenes. We start with what to expect from external models and then dives into how to clean up a file and organize it for heavy optimization.

Visual Effects - Creating and Combining Render Passes
This tutorial covers what render passes are and how they can be created with VRay. The use of Render Elements is the same for the Scanline renderer, and Mental Ray renderer.

Visual Effects - Unique Effects and Visuals
This tutorial shows how to setup a cool rendering effect that gives objects a softer more painterly look to them. This video shows how to use a similar technique with VRay and 3D Studio Max that works well with stereoscopic 3D.

This technique for generating clouds focuses on the use of many quads/planes with transparent textures and projected translucent materials to create convincing and quick clouds. Inspiration for this tutorial came from Damian Nenow's presentation.
Stereoscopic 3D - Converting 2D to 3D (Depth Maps)
This video kicks off the 2D to 3D conversion tutorials and discusses why one would want to convert 2D footage to stereoscopic 3D. The series will focus on a variety of methods for when 2 cameras aren't available or their use is just too complicated.
This tutorial covers one (and possibly the easiest) method for creating a depth image. We take a look at using VRay to generate a "depth pass" of our 3D scene. The concepts can be applied just about any renderer on the market.
This tutorial goes over how to use rotoscoping in Mocha, a very powerful roto tool that comes free with After Effects CS5, to create depth footage. The resulting footage can then be used to create stereo pairs from a single camera.

Stereoscopic 3D - Converting Aspect Ratios and Formats
This tutorial shows how to take existing stereo pairs and convert them to another aspect ratio (4:3 to 16:9). Additionally, we look at building an After Effects project that will allow for easy conversion of future content whether it's anaglyph or left/right stereo pairs.
This tutorial goes over converting 16:9 stereo pairs into compatible 4:3 stereo pairs or anaglyph. The pipeline and methods can easily be used to convert additional footage and tweak existing stereo effects.
This video goes over how one can adjust the stereo offsets of footage in After Effects after it has been shot using the two camera system. The method can't work miracles but can help make some scenes more comfortable to view.
